Chaplain's Events

From the Chaplain

Hi, I’m Justin Hill, the school Chaplain and it’s been my pleasure to serve as the Chaplain here at Pinjarra SHS since 1999.  Below are a few details on up and coming youth events, some of which I just advertise but am not involved with personally, whilst other events I actually organise or take students to. I really don’t want the cost of these events to prevent any young people participating so should the financial side be a problem please let me know and I’m sure I can help out. If you’d like further details on any of these events please feel free to contact me at the school.

40 Hour Famine

With much cheering and appropriate fanfare I’m stoked to announce we absolutely smashed our fundraising target of $4500 this year and have thus far raised nearly $6700! Thanks so much to all of you who have supported this effort and it’s great to know we’re helping make a big dent in the number of children suffering from starvation in our world.

School Holiday Camps

I’m a big fan of SU holiday camps for youth because they’re run by volunteers and given the amazing adventure programs they run they’re the best value for money camps around. Every school holiday break a new set of camps is offered for various primary and secondary age groups and details can be found usually after about Week 3 of each term by downloading the camps brochure at https://suwa.org.au under the SU community tab.

Thanks to some generous donors I am also able to give financial assistance to those wanting to attend camps who find the cost a bit much, so please contact me if I can help with this.

Impact Youth

Impact Youth is a youth group running on Saturday nights at the family church here in Pinjarra. In addition to running great activities they have fortnightly discussions on how to develop good character so you can stand tall when life gets tough! See me if you’d like a program.

Old Mobile Phones

If you have an old mobile phone you don’t want anymore please put it in the phone recycling box in the front office here at the school. Not only does the environment benefit from this, but for each phone deposited, $3 is given to Pinjarra/Waroona YouthCARE who fundraise to keep our Chaplains in local schools (including me!!).
