Pinjarra Senior High School is a member of the Murray Waroona Schools Network which allows us, in conjunction with our partner schools, to deliver quality education opportunities across Kindergarten to Year 12. Benefits of our network membership include increased exposure to specialist teachers and resources, effective transition across the phases of schooling, an excellent range of programs and opportunities for students, and teacher consultation and collaboration about the best ways of providing for local students. Most importantly the Network gives students access to quality secondary education and training opportunities at Pinjarra Senior High School.

One of the school’s features is the excellent support it receives from local people, businesses and our parent community. A dedicated team of specialist teachers provide students with up-to-date resources to offer the best learning opportunities eg robotics, subs in schools etc.

The Pinjarra SHS staff members have a clear focus on providing pastoral care for our students. The Student Services team runs specific programs and ensures our students’ pastoral and learning needs are attended to as well as possible.

The school is well resourced and an extensive building and renovation program continues, the complete refurbishment of the Science Department, new amenities and upgraded middle school classrooms.

Our Trade Training Centre specialising in Metals Engineering was completed in 2013. The new state of the art Technology and Enterprise rooms were completed during 2013 at a cost of $7m. It provides students with a wonderful opportunity to develop skills and experience in these areas. It includes specific Foods, Textiles, Woodwork, Metalwork and Automotive rooms and equipment.

Recent partnerships with UWA and Murdoch University provide opportunities for Pinjarra SHS students to interact in highly engaging academic activities as part of our Academic Extension Program. Senior School students reap the reward of this partnership through increased expert support, study seminars and scholarships.

The school provides a mix of traditional and innovative programs. It offers courses leading to tertiary studies, TAFE, traineeships and apprenticeships, and the workplace. Pinjarra’s special programs include Year 11 and 12 Engineering and Automotive programs, a Year 11 and 12 Senior Schooling Engagement Program and a range of TAFE Certificates. A growing number of our senior students are choosing to undertake studies that combine school, TAFE and employment.

The school runs an outstanding Music program. Our music students and their teachers are regularly featured in the community. Well over 100 students participate in our Dance program and our Pinjarra Football Academy provides engagement and the opportunity for academic success for about 70 boys. An Academic Extension Program for Year 8s has been introduced and compliments the extension programs already operating in Years 9 and 10. The school provides an extensive extra curricula calendar each year because we know that it is these value adding activities that make a great deal of difference to students.
